ReStore History
Habitat for Humanity ReStore originally began with the Austin, Texas Habitat for Humanity in 1992. Today, some 500 Habitat ReStores in 47 states are raising funds to support their affiliate missions of housing people in need. Midland County Habitat for Humanity established its ReStore outlet in August of 2006. How Does it Work? Individuals and businesses donate merchandise. Habitat volunteers help keep the store stocked and manned. People in the community get terrific bargains! ReStore profits help build homes for needy Midland County families. All funds stay in Midland County. Reuse and Recycle
ReStore resale outlets provide an environmentally and socially
responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of the waste stream
while providing funding for Habitat’s community improvement work.
