Opportunities to Support MCHFH Financially

In addition to building new homes every year, MCHFH administers mortgages for partner families who received homes in prior years. These revenues are currently sufficient to cover administrative costs. However, with no other established source of income, we must depend on donations to fund all of our construction.

A typical annual budget is broken down as follows:

  • 19% Administrative - includes rent, insurance and administrative payroll.
  • 13% Program - includes construction coordinator salary, tools, fundraising, productivity enhancements and safety.
  • 63% Construction - includes materials and professional services included in the house cost.
  • 5% Land - includes land purchase, well drilling and septic field placement.

With almost 70% of funds going directly into pruchasing land or construction materials, a donation to MCHFH is a good investment.

There are many ways individuals or groups can support MCHFH financially:

  • Monetary donation (one-time gift, annual pledge, memorial).
  • Designate MCHFH as a beneficiary in your estate to help those in need while minimizing potential estate taxes.
  • In-kind donation (call MCHFH office for a list of items needed).
  • Home sponsorship or co-sponsorship.
  • Land donation.
  • Sponsor a Heart-of-Christmas program at your church, organization or business.
  • Organize a fundraiser, such as a bake sale, golf tournament, skate-a-thon, bike-a-thon, etc.
